Costco Wholesale, Inc. (NASDAQ: COST) has had an interesting past few years.
The online retailer has been plagued by the recent decade-long decline in its market share.
In 2015, the company saw a steep drop in its online store traffic and lost $2.7 billion on average.
In 2016, the number of online orders dropped by 40 percent, and by 2019, the stock was trading at $19.40.
The company’s stock has been trading below $18 for some time, but Costco’s stock price has been rising lately.
In 2017, Costco’s market cap hit $52.5 billion, up 40 percent from the previous year.
Costco’s share of the online market has been growing steadily for the past few months.
As of February 2018, the online grocery market share was 20.4 percent, according to the research firm Euromonitor.
According to data from the research agency Berenberg, Costco has a market share of 16.9 percent of online grocery purchases.
Despite the downturn, Costco and other online retailers like Amazon and Target are still offering good deals on paper towel products.
One of the most popular items on Costco’s online store is the company’s bamboo paper towels.
If you’re looking for a low-cost, soft towel to wipe away your sweaty palms and avoid the smell of laundry detergent, this is a great buy.
This is one of the only grocery stores that can make it to the holidays without charging you extra for the towels, which are available for free at the store.
You can also pick up a bundle of three towels, or two towels, for $8.99.
While it may not be the best deal out there, the bamboo paper towel is still a great value.
